Mineral regime and mining legislation

Gold is Burkina Faso’s second largest export, after cotton, and though the country has promoted mineral investment in recent years, there is still considerable scope for further development. A new mining code was adopted in 1997 and modified in 2000, stipulating that mineral resources are the property of the state, with mineral rights being granted by the Ministère de l’Energie et Mines.

Benzu’s interest

Due to its expertise and contacts in Burkina Faso, Benzu is evaluating gold opportunities with the objective of securing high-potential gold properties.
